BREAKDOWN OF CLASS:

Danielle Pretsfelder Demchick is a top TV / Film casting director who was part of the casting team at Nickelodeon for 14 years. She is now the Owner of DPD Casting, casting multiple projects for kids and adults alike. See Danielle’s bio below!

This class is meant to give BKA students training and practice in virtual on-camera chemistry reads and audition self tapes. BKA will provide a file of scenes that students can choose from to work on in the workshop or students can bring in scenes from a past or upcoming audition. Students will be broken down into partners to go through each scene as if they were in final callbacks for a television or film project. Each student will get to work one-on-one with Danielle performing scenes will receive feedback within a class setting. All levels welcome but please discern if your child is ready for focused on-camera work before registering.

Objectives:

-Chemistry Readings: Working with a partner in a breakout room to discover relationships and connections in a callback situation.

-Breaking down the scene, creating honest moments and transitioning between awkward cuts in sides.

-Navigating and implementing redirects from the creative team.

-Mastering character development, physicality and relationships with other characters.

-Mastering your home studio lighting, background and technical set ups. Danielle will check each students’ space and give notes on how to make your home studio the most effective for auditions.

-Focus and framework that translates into a successful self-tape and live Zoom auditions that book you the job!
