Join us for an exciting audition workshop with Tony nominated Broadway star Grey Henson (Elf, Mean Girls, Shucked, The Book of Mormon) at Open Jar Studios!

Location: Open Jar Studios, 1601 Broadway @ 48th Street, 11th Floor

Date: Saturday April 5, 2025, 11am-2pm EST. 

Grey Henson—fresh off playing Buddy the Elf in Elf, The Musical on Broadway—will bring his dynamic energy and expert coaching to BKA’s young performers looking to take their auditions to the next level!

  • What You’ll Learn:
    - How to make bold and dynamic choices in your audition that are unique to YOU!
    - Tips for standing out to help land callbacks and JOBS!
    - Receive technical acting and singing feedback from a Tony-nominated Broadway professional.
    -Q&A with Grey about the Broadway industry. 

  • 🎤 What to Prepare:
    🔹 A short 16-32 bar audition cut (bring sheet music in the correct key, printed & in a binder)
    🔹 OR a one-minute monologue

  • An accompanist will be provided

  • 👧 Ages 8-18. Limited to 12 students. All experience levels welcome!

About Grey Henson: Grey received Tony, Drama Desk, and Helen Hayes Award nominations for his performance as Damian Hubbard in Mean Girls on Broadway. Grey also recently appeared on Broadway as Buddy the Elf in Elf The Musical, Storyteller #2 in Shucked and Elder McKinley in The Book of Mormon, having originated the role on the First National Tour. On television he guest-starred in the comedy series "Suburgatory." Grey received his BFA in acting and musical theatre from the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama in Pittsburgh. He is a Macon, GA native.
