LIVE, IN-PERSON, IN NYC: BROADWAY KIDS AUDITIONS 2025 SPRING PERFORMANCE WEEKEND!

We love our community of young artists and families and are excited to announce our 2-day winter performance weekend in New York City!

-The goal of this weekend is to get our artists working in a studio and on stage in New York City. The result will be an elegant event at one of New York City’s finest venues, Chelsea Table and Stage.

-This intensive will get you working in the studio with top Broadway guest artists and BKA staff, working with an accompanist and directors on new material that can then be used for future auditions and performance opportunities.

-The BKA team will be creating an original song cycle concert utilizing musical theatre and pop/rock repertoire that showcases each individual artist. Cast members may be broken down into two groups, ages 8-12 and 13-18 for some rehearsals. 

-Once registered, BKA will ask for performance videos of your work and choose a NEW solo song, duet or monologue (for non-singers) specifically chosen for you to work on during the intensive that will be part of the final performance. 

-Included in your tuition will be learning tracks and marked sheet music, one thirty minute virtual session with our musical director and one thirty minute virtual session with our director.

-In addition, there will be a group song with sheet music and learning tracks provided. 

-There is also an optional livestream to watch the show with a beautiful video of the entire evening to use for your promotion.

-DAY ONE will include movement workshops, group song classes taught by our top BKA coaches and industry professionals, and staging. (SEE EXAMPLE SCHEDULE BELOW)

-DAY TWO will be in the performance space with staging rehearsals, tech and a performance run through. Final show will be at 7pm EST (subject to change—-SEE EXAMPLE SCHEDULE).

-Our final performance will include 3 invited industry professionals*.

EXAMPLE SCHEDULE:

Saturday May 3, 2025

10am to 5:30pm at OPEN JAR STUDIOS, 1601 Broadway

10am-11am: Movement Workshop with BKA coaches.

11am-12noon: Group Music Rehearsal 

12:00-1:00pm: Song Workshops (broken down into two groups based on age) or Industry dance class with original Broadway choreography.

1:00-1:30pm: LUNCH. 

1:30-2:30pm: Song Workshops and Industry Workshop.

2:30pm-4pm: Staging Rehearsal.

4-5:30pm: Work through the show. 

Sunday February 18, 2024 at Open Jar Studios & Chelsea Table and Stage

10am-11am: Broadway Dance Class.

11am-3:00pm: Staging and run through of show.

3:00-4:30pm: BREAK (Lunch and travel to Chelsea Table and Stage).

4:30pm-6:00pm: Tech run through of show at Chelsea Table and Stage.

6:00pm: Dinner hour (students will have a designated place to change and prepare).

7:00pm: SHOWTIME

8pm: Wrap-up, pictures and goodbyes!

TUITION: $649.00 ($575 if you register before March 1, 2025).

Strictly limited to 20 students on a first come, first service basis for ages 8-18 only.

BKA does not require an audition for this intensive, but we recommend you discern if your child is ready for a professionally focused performance program before signing up! In order to put a show together in this manner, artists will be expected to have all materials memorized and well rehearsed after their music and acting coaching. Artists will be expected to be performance ready at rehearsal on Saturday so they are ready to receive staging and additional direction as our team creates the show specifically for our cast.
